The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested a doctor from Latur and a Pune-based coach as part of their probe into the NEET Undergraduate exam leak, officials reported on Wednesday.

Authorities accuse Manoj Shirure of playing a critical role by aiding three students, including the son of Renukai Career Centre founder Shivraj Motegaonkar, in accessing chemistry questions from NEET paper setter P V Kulkarni. Following these developments, Motegaonkar has also been detained.

Another arrest in the case is Tejas Harshadkumar Shah, a physics tutor at the Dr Abhang Prabhu Medical Academy in Pune. Shah is suspected of obtaining physics questions for NEET UG 2026 from Manisha Havaldar, an arrested individual.

The investigation continues, as the total number of arrests now stands at 13. The CBI has initiated extensive searches, probing 49 locations, and confiscated documents, laptops, and phones. The ongoing inquiry aims to unmask the conspiracy behind the scandal.

In light of the breach, the National Testing Agency annulled the NEET exam from May 3 and has planned a retake for June 21.
