Union Home Minister Amit Shah has directed authorities to strengthen security and administrative coordination across Rajasthan's border districts adjoining Pakistan, with a renewed focus on infiltration prevention, illegal construction, narcotics smuggling, cybercrime, and terror financing.
Chairing a high-level security review meeting in Bikaner, Rajasthan, the Home Minister reviewed the security situation along the Indo-Pakistan Border (IPB) and discussed measures aimed at improving integrated border management and last-mile governance in vulnerable border regions.
The meeting was attended by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, senior state officials, district magistrates, and police superintendents from five key border districts:

Amit Shah issued strict instructions for the removal of unauthorized constructions located within 0 to 15 kilometres of the international border.
He directed authorities to implement a zero-tolerance policy against illegal structures in sensitive border zones, citing security concerns and the need to prevent misuse of such areas for infiltration, smuggling, or illegal activities.
Officials were instructed to identify and demolish all unlawful constructions within the designated security zone.
The move forms part of broader efforts to tighten physical and administrative control in border areas considered vulnerable to cross-border criminal networks and infiltration attempts.
Multi-Agency Coordination to Combat Cross-Border Crime
The Home Minister emphasised the need for a coordinated border management system involving multiple central and state agencies.
