Gurugram Police Directive: Vehicles with Women, Children Exempted from Routine Stops

The Gurugram Police have issued a directive preventing the routine stopping of vehicles carrying women, children, or elderly individuals. Effective May 23, this measure aims to protect families from unnecessary disturbances at checkpoints.

Police efforts will now prioritize observation of suspicious vehicles and potential crime prevention over routine checks. The advisory encourages citizens to comply with traffic regulations, including wearing seat belts and helmets, and reporting any unusual incidents on the roads.

The change follows newly appointed Commissioner of Police Sibash Kabiraj's instructions and reflects a shift toward intelligence-based policing to catch notorious criminals.

Emphasizing considerate driving, the public is urged to be mindful not to obstruct emergency vehicles and to report any suspicious activities to the Gurugram Police immediately.
