Police have received a copy of the post dated May 2 and have commenced a preliminary investigation. Legal actions will be determined upon the findings, stated a senior officer from Kolkata Police.

This development follows an FIR against Banerjee lodged days earlier at the Bidhannagar Cyber Crime police station for alleged provocative remarks during election campaigning. The complaint, filed by Baguiati resident Rajib Sarkar, pertains to comments made by Banerjee at a rally on April 27, where he purportedly challenged the BJP, leading to political unrest.
