Duo Detained for Firing Guns at Religious Event in UP's Etah

Authorities in Uttar Pradesh's Etah district have arrested two men for engaging in illegal firing at a Bhagwat Katha function. The incident, which surfaced via a video, prompted police to launch an investigation and confiscate the weapons involved.
Raghuraj Singh, aged 45, and Bhuri Singh, 50, both from Kuswa village, were apprehended for their roles in the shooting. Their seized firearms included a rifle and a double-barrel gun. Police noted that Raghuraj Singh had prior allegations concerning assault and intimidation, while action is being taken against Bhuri Singh related to this case.
Awagarh Station House Officer Akhilesh Dixit emphasized a zero-tolerance stance on celebratory gunfire at public and religious gatherings.
