Woman Fatally Attacked in Lucknow; Spouse Detained with Knife

A young woman's life came to a tragic end in Lucknow's Bazaar Khala area, as police confirmed she succumbed to injuries in a domestic altercation. Chandni, 26, was discovered near Eidgah Gate No 12 on Wednesday night with her throat slashed. Despite urgent medical attention at the KGMU Trauma Centre, she could not be saved.

The authorities, acting swiftly on Thursday, arrested Chandni's husband, Mohammad Shahid, in Aishbagh. In Shahid's possession was a knife, believed to be the tool used in this dreadful incident. The couple, married for seven years, was known to have a tumultuous relationship marked by frequent arguments. Definitive evidence, including CCTV footage and witness testimonies, has led to Shahid being charged with murder at the police station. Chandni's father, Mohammad Shafiq, filed the formal complaint, prompting the investigation.
