High Court Demands Updates on Schools for Relocated Slum Residents Near PM's Residence

The Delhi High Court has requested an affidavit detailing the condition of schools at the relocation site for slum dwellers from areas near the prime minister's residence, specifically the Bhai Ram Camp, DID Camp, and Masjid Camp. This move follows complaints from residents about the inadequacy of services like education and public transport at the Savda Ghevra site.

During a hearing, the central government was instructed to illustrate their plans with the Delhi Transport Corporation and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation to ensure free travel for the displaced individuals. An official highlighted that bus passes could be issued, with potential similar agreements for metro travel. The court will revisit the case in early June, aiming for clarity on schooling and commuting arrangements for affected families.
