The 60-year-old was charged in March following an investigation initiated in July of the previous year. The court in Henan province delivered the sentence, outlining Shi's abuses of power.

Authorities revealed that Shi embezzled, misappropriated, and exchanged bribes worth around 300 million yuan over nearly three decades. This significant sum translates to about $44.33 million, marking a significant breach of public trust.
