The Delhi government has introduced a new five-member committee dedicated to enhancing the facilities for the Kanwar Yatra, as announced by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. This initiative is part of efforts to provide a respectful and satisfying experience for Shiva devotees during the significant month of Shravan.

Under the guidance of Culture Minister Kapil Mishra, the restructured Kanwar Committee will focus on meticulous planning to ensure safety, organization, and spiritual enrichment throughout the event. Gupta highlighted the necessity of treating every Kanwariya entering Delhi with utmost respect, emphasizing the availability of the best services possible.

A key priority for the committee will be managing routes efficiently while ensuring quality waterproof tent accommodations, access to medical services, and 24-hour power and water supply. Gupta revealed plans for the committee to organize meetings with various officials, including District Magistrates, Delhi Police, and health authorities, to assess and fine-tune the arrangements.

The Kanwar Yatra, commencing at the end of July and lasting a month, represents a significant religious journey where devotees traditionally gather from various regions.
