The Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan has achieved notable progress in its initial 50 days, seizing 341 kg of drugs and arresting over 1,000 offenders in Jammu and Kashmir. The anti-drug campaign, initiated by Manoj Sinha, focuses on dismantling drug trafficking and narco-terror networks to curb the illicit narcotics trade.
From April 11 to May 29, authorities filed 923 FIRs and detained 1,018 individuals for drug-related activities. The operation included confiscating heroin valued at Rs 120 crore and thousands of psychotropic tablets. Police also seized Rs 83 crore in linked assets, demolishing drug network properties.
Efforts are complemented by intensified public awareness campaigns, with over one crore people participating in activities aimed at ending substance abuse. The campaign also emphasizes mental health, offering service through Tele-Manas, and enhancing rehabilitation for those affected by addiction. Authorities apply strict regulation on medical and transport licenses linked to drug offenses.
Officials remain vigilant against drug trafficking as surveillance strengthens throughout educational institutions and sensitive areas. Sinha vows to continue the fight until every drug operator is fully prosecuted, declaring that J-K will not harbor those profiting from human despair.
