Krishna Swaminathan Takes Charge as New Chief of Indian Navy

Admiral Krishna Swaminathan has assumed the role of chief of the Indian Navy, pledging to prioritize operational readiness in a challenging maritime security environment. He succeeds Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi, with a focus on modernizing naval capabilities and enhancing jointness, indigenization, and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.

Admiral Krishna Swaminathan has stepped into the position of chief of the Indian Navy, succeeding Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi who recently retired. Swaminathan, formerly the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Naval Command, emphasized his commitment to maintaining operational readiness amid a dynamic regional security landscape.

Detailing his vision for the Navy, Swaminathan stressed the importance of upgrading capabilities and integrating advanced technologies.
