The Congress has raised alarms over a substantial data breach involving the answer sheets of two million Grade 12 students under the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). This exposure is claimed to compromise students' privacy significantly.
Jairam Ramesh from Congress criticized COEMPT, accusing it of negligence and incompetence. He pointed out that this same company was contracted by altering technical requirements in the RFP process, allegedly benefiting them. Ramesh noted the poor scan quality of available papers, questioning the type of scanners used. Suspicions have arisen over CBSE's improper configuration of their AWS bucket, exacerbating these concerns.
Congress insists the scandal reveals an "astonishing mixture of incompetence, corruption, and callousness" in the CBSE's conduct during the board exams. They demand resignations, including Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's, alongside a thorough CBI probe. Previously, Rahul Gandhi highlighted the government's silence on the issue, saying it reflects their lack of commitment to students' futures.
