Over 7,500 Challans Issued as Delhi Tackles Wrong-Side Driving

The Delhi Traffic Police have intensified their crackdown on traffic violations, issuing 65 FIRs and over 7,500 challans in their recent campaign against wrong-side driving, unofficially tinted windows, and intoxicated driving across the city.

In a bid to strengthen road safety in Delhi, the city's Traffic Police have taken stern measures by registering 65 first information reports (FIRs) and issuing more than 7,500 challans during a special enforcement operation. This citywide drive specifically focused on combating wrong-side driving, a persistent issue that endangers public safety.

The operation also targeted vehicles with unauthorized tinted windows and drunk driving, both problematic elements on the roads of the national capital. Officials have reported that a total of 785 challans were issued for tinted windows, while 471 motorists faced consequences for driving under the influence of alcohol. Actions were conducted at numerous key locations across the city, with legal measures applied rigorously where violations occurred, according to a senior officer of the police force.
