The Capacity Building Commission (CBC) is leading a major overhaul of over 700 training institutions to improve training for government employees in India. This transformation is part of the UNNATI initiative, which encourages resource sharing and collaboration across institutions.

The CBC mapped the roles of public servants across 90 ministries and developed capacity-building plans aligned to these roles. The initiative, rooted in the 'Bharatiya ethos' of collective growth, aims to streamline service training and increase institutional effectiveness.

By June's end, all institutions are expected to join the UNNATI portal, promoting data-driven insights to better utilize resources and improve training quality. Former IAS officer Radha Chauhan stressed the need for such reforms, noting that many public servants go without institutional training during their careers.

The CBC also established the National Standards for Civil Services Training Institutions framework to assess and accredit these institutions. Yet, the focus remains on continuous improvement rather than mere accreditation, promoting a culture of collaboration and efficiency in the public training sector.
