Romania's navy detonated a drifting anti-landing mine, identified as a Russian YaRM-type, on its Black Sea shore. Since Russia's attack on Ukraine began, Romania, Bulgaria, and Turkey have collaborated to defuse stray mines in the area, essential for vital shipments of grain, oil, and products.

In a remarkable display of naval precision, Romania's navy successfully detonated an anti-landing mine, which had drifted to its Black Sea shore, according to the nation's defense ministry.

Identified as a Russian YaRM-type mine, it surfaced between the seaside towns of Vama Veche and 2 Mai. Details on the mine's age remain undisclosed.

The collaborative efforts of Romania, Bulgaria, and Turkey have resulted in the defusing of nine out of 156 discovered mines in the Black Sea, a critical region for grain and oil commerce following Russia's assault on Ukraine four years ago.
