A U.S. judge has indefinitely blocked an 'anti-weaponization' fund supported by former President Donald Trump. The $1.8 billion fund, emerging from a settlement with the Justice Department, is intended to compensate individuals claiming to be victims of 'lawfare.' A U.S. judge has put an indefinite stop to a $1.8 billion 'anti-weaponization' fund backed by President Donald Trump. On Friday, Judge Leonie Brinkema took the decision, giving the administration a week to assure through a sworn statement that the fund won’t proceed.

The decision revises a temporary halt that was supposed to end on Friday. The fund is a product of a settlement agreement between Trump and the Justice Department over a $10 billion lawsuit Trump had filed against the Internal Revenue Service.

Specifically, the Justice Department had set aside a $1.776 billion fund, managed by a five-member commission, to compensate those reportedly affected by 'lawfare' and 'weaponization,' terms often used by Trump and his allies to describe investigations and criminal charges against them.
