An Oslo court has sentenced Marius Borg Hoiby, stepson of Norway's Crown Prince Haakon, to four years in prison following his conviction on multiple charges, including two counts of rape and domestic violence.
Hoiby, 29, became part of the royal family when his mother Mette-Marit married Crown Prince Haakon in 2001.
During the seven-week trial that captivated the nation, evidence revealed Hoiby's drug addiction and self-made videos, as well as over 800 electronic messages presented in court. While he was acquitted on two other charges of rape, Hoiby plans to appeal the verdict.
