Court Upholds Ban on Palestine Action as Terror Group
The British Court of Appeal upheld the ban on pro-Palestinian campaign group Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation, citing its support for violence. The decision overrules a lower court’s ruling. Co-founder Huda Ammori plans to challenge this at the UK Supreme Court, arguing the ban restricts free speech.
The British government’s decision to ban pro-Palestinian group Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation was upheld by London’s Court of Appeal, citing support for violence.
Announcing the ruling on Monday, the court deemed the ban proportionate, overturning a previous High Court decision that considered it an undue restriction on free expression.
Despite this, co-founder Huda Ammori vowed to challenge the decision at the UK's Supreme Court, defending the group's right to protest and criticising the extreme curtailment of free speech.
