Germany is in active discussions with Romania regarding the extradition of a man detained in connection with a gun stash found in a forest near Berlin, Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt announced on Friday.

This case heightens the perception of operating under a high threat level, according to Dobrindt, who detailed the suspect as a 'low-level agent' with no knowledge of higher command structures. Alongside, he mentioned similar occurrences involving other operatives this year, including one from Kazakhstan.

While reports suggest the weapons were intended for assassinations for Russian intelligence, Dobrindt did not discard foreign power involvement. The suspect is also linked to intended parcel bomb attacks in Romania, influencing extradition discussions with Romanian authorities.
