Man gets 10-yr RI for raping minor girl
A local court on Tuesday sentenced a man to 10 years rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting a seven-year-old girl in August 2012. First Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Suneetha Kunchala found the man guilty of kidnapping and raping the girl under relevant sections of the IPC.
The man was sentenced to seven years rigorous imprisonment for kidnapping and 10 years for raping the minor girl, Additional Public Prosecutor T Padma Latha Reddy said.
According to the prosecution, in August 2012, the man, then 31-years, lured the girl by offering her chocolates and took her on his two-wheeler and raped her. He was arrested in September 2012.
The sentences will run concurrently.
