Bangladeshi human trafficking victims, who found themselves on the island of Vanuatu, don't want to return home. They have told diplomats from Bangladesh the same.

The 101 odd migrants have been under Vanuatu police protection and are hoping for resettlement. Shahin Khan, a spokesman for the group said they fear they will be killed by 'loan sharks' in Bangladesh. "We asked to find jobs for us in Australia and New Zealand so we can work and support our families and we can live with honour and dignity. We don't want to be a burden for any society nor we want to live as a beggar." Khan said the diplomatic official had also met with Vanuatu's foreign affairs ministry.
