Federal judge temporarily blocks Missouri law restricting abortion

A federal judge on Tuesday blocked Missouri from enforcing a law banning abortion in the state after eight weeks except in cases of medical emergency.
The law was set to take effect on Wednesday, but U.S. District Judge Howard Sachs ruled that the state not enforce it, pending litigation or further order of the court, according to a court document.
