Two drug peddlers arrested

Two alleged drug peddlers were arrested and over 19 kgs of ganja and 1.5 kgs of poppy husk was seized in separate places here Thursday, police said.

Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted a Toyota Etios car near Chiranjiv Vihar colony and during its checking seized 19 kgs of ganja, DIG Upendra Agarwal said.

Rahul, a resident of the Vijay nagar area of the city, was arrested he said.

During interrogation it was found he along with his partner Abhishek, who managed to escape, supplied drugs in Ghaziabad and Noida, police said.

In another case, police arrested one Nikhil near Mata colony and seized 1.5 kgs of poppy husk from him, an official of the Vijay nagar police station said.

Two separate cases have been registered and probe is on, police said.
