Congress announces poll-related committees of its Delhi unit

Gearing up for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, the election-related committees of the Congress' Delhi unit were announced Thursday. The committees for election, party manifesto, poll management, media, coordination, poll campaign and publicity for Delhi were announced by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) after approval from party president Rahul Gandhi, said a statement.

The Pradesh Election Committee headed by Delhi Congress chief Sheila Dikshit will have 32 members, including senior party leaders Kapil Sibal, Karan Singh, Janardan Dwivedi, Ajay Maken, besides functionaries and top leaders of the state unit, it said. The coordination committee headed by Dikshit will have AK Walia as vice chairman, Devender Yadav as convener and Rajkumar Chauhan as co-convener.

Senior Delhi Congress leader Subhash Chopra will head the campaign committee. Former Delhi Congress president Ajay Maken will be chairman of the manifesto committee.
