Gurugram's district administration is intensifying its crackdown on unauthorised commercial setups in Chakkarpur village, focusing on illegal occupations of licensed colony land. This latest action is part of a broader initiative against encroachments and unapproved constructions across the region.
The District Town Planner (Enforcement) has issued a directive to landowners Dalbir Singh and Charan Singh, and Rajdarbar Iconic Ventures Private Limited, to resolve allegations of unauthorised operations within 15 days. This follows a Supreme Court order allowing authorities to continue actions according to the provisions of the HDRUA Act, amid ongoing arbitration proceedings.
The land in question, associated with Licence No. 85 of 2004, has seen several commercial establishments operating without sanctioned building plans, as the development licence expired in 2006. The prolonged legal battles over nearly two decades have involved significant legal challenges, including arbitration and court cases.
Authorities have continuously issued notices since 2021 and previously conducted a demolition drive in April 2023. The latest order asserts that pending arbitrations or civil appeals do not prevent statutory action unless explicitly stayed by legal authorities.
