Youth shot dead in clash between two groups in Ghaziabad, 8 held

A youth was shot dead in a fight between two groups in Ram Park Extension Colony here, police said. Police said they arrested eight people on Tuesday, a day after the clash. One Sumit had a heated argument with Rohit from the colony, Superintendent of police (rural area) Neeraj Kumar Jadaun said. Locals intervened and the matter seemed to have been resolved, he said.

However after sometime, Deepak along with four associates reached the spot and pelted stones at the water treatment office of one Pankaj, where the clash had initially begun, officials said, adding that in the melee Deepak shot his cousin Badal. Badal was immediately rushed to St Stephen's hospital in Delhi, where he died on Tuesday morning, they added. The bullet had punctured Badal's stomach, they added. Eight accused involved in the scuffle have been arrested, Jadaun added.
