Three militants belonging to two banned underground outfits were arrested by security forces from different places in Manipur's Imphal East district, police said Friday. Two members of People Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) were arrested by a combined team of Manipur police and Assam Rifles while conducting random frisking and search operation at Mayanglambam Lampak, Top Khongnang area in Imphal East district on May 15, a police press release said.
A case has been registered at Porompat police station for further investigation, it said. A cadre of banned underground outfit Manipur Naga Revolutionary Front (MNRF) was arrested by security forces from Sanjenbam Nungpokpi Ching area in Imphal East district on May 14 last, the release said, adding that one .303 rifle was recovered from the arrested militant..
