TRS leader K Kavitha, daughter of party president and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who lost from Nizamabad in the Lok Sabha polls, Monday said she would not desert the constituency and would work for the people. "I want to tell the people of Telangana, Nizamabad and especially TRS party activists that success and failure will be there in politics and democracy.
But TRS has always worked for the aspirations of the Telangana people without being focused on positions," she said. "I belong to Nizamabad. I will be in Nizamabad. There is no question of leaving Nizamabad," she said. She said she would work for the people, regardless of whether she held any position or not. The TRS leader was speaking after consoling the family members of a party activist, who reportedly died of a heart attack after being upset over her loss in the election.
She said voters had chosen the BJP over TRS in the hope that it would win the elections. Kavitha said she hoped the BJP and its newly-elected MP from Nizamabad would fulfil the people's aspirations. The Lok Sabha election in Nizamabad made headlines after more than 170 farmers, seeking setting up of a turmeric board and remunerative prices for turmeric and red jowar entered the poll fray as independent candidates.
