Mamata wants GTA chairman to fulfilpoll promises made to people

Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday asked Gorkha Territorial Administration (GTA) chairman Binoy Tamang to fulfill all the promises made to the people in the party's Lok Sabha election manifesto. Banerjee, who is also the chief minister of the state, held a meeting with Tamang at the state secretariat on Tueday.

"The chief minister has directed Tamang to fulfill the promises made during the elections. The state government will extend full support to the GTA in fulfilling the promises," a highly-placed official told PTI. Banerjee also directed Tamang to speed up development works in the hills and complete them before 2021 when the state Assembly elections are due, the official said.
