Three arrested for cheating jewellery firm of Rs 27.3 crore Aurangabad, Jul 4 (PTI The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Aurangabad police in Maharashtra has arrested three persons for allegedly cheating a jewellery firm to the tune of Rs 27.30 crore. One of the accused is an employee of the firm, Waman Hari Pethe Jewelers.

According to the complaint, Ankur Rane, one of the accused, was working as the manager of the firm's Aurangabad branch for last nine years, said inspector S B Navale of the EOW. Between October 2018 to June 2019, Rane, along with co-accused Rajendra Kisan Jain and Lokesh Pawankumar Jain, allegedly stole 58 kg of gold jewellery worth Rs27.30 crore, claimed Vishwanath Prakash Pethe, owner of the firm, in his complaint.

Rane allegedly kept the firm in the dark by submitting fake bills to its main branch in Mumbai. The EOW has arrested Rane, Rajendra Jain and Lokesh Jain and further probe is on.
