UP govt staff, policemen asked to refrain from taking leaves in view of festivals

In view of the upcoming festivals, Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Anoop Chandra Pandey on Sunday issued directives to various government departments and police not to allow their personnel take any leave till August 15. However, in case of any emergency, the controlling officer can sanction the leave after verifying the facts, a UP government spokesperson said.
The chief secretary has issued orders that in view of the various upcoming festivals and to maintain peace, order and ensure essential services, the leaves of all the personnel of the government departments concerned should not be allowed, the spokesperson said in a statement issued here on Sunday.
