MIM MLA beats man, video goes viral

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) MLA Kausar Mohiuddin has beaten up a man for allegedly coming drunk for duty with a video of the four-month old incident going viral on social media on Monday. The video clip showed the legislator beating the man with a small stick in an office even as a few others look on.

When contacted Mohiuddin admitted beating the man and said the incident happened about four months ago and the video surfaced recently. He claimed the man was a drunkard and was neglecting his work and family.

The man identified as Syed Sarwar on Monday praised the legislator, saying he and his family were being looked after by him. I took money from Saab (MLA) and consumed liquor. It is for my good only he hit me. He always cared for our family, Sarwar told media.

The other members shown in the video seemed to be enjoying the thrashing and there was no aggression in the MLAs behaviour..
