Youths drown in Yamuna: Rs 2 lakh ex gratia announced

The Uttar Pradesh government has announced an ex gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh to the families of those who drowned in the Yamuna river in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district a day ago, an official said. District Magistrate Akhilesh Singh said a National Disaster Response Force team had been called to search for the missing three persons.
Six youths drowned in the river on Sunday when they were swept away by strong currents while bathing. Three bodies have been fished out so dar, the official had said.
