Rape, other charges framed against 20 accused in Muzaffarpur shelter home assault case

Delhi court frames rape and other charges against 20 accused in Muzaffarpur shelter home sexual assault case. The charge sheet filed by the CBI names 21 people including main accused Brajesh Thakur who used to run the state-funded NGO in Bihar where minor girls were allegedly sexually abused over a period of time.

The apex court had in February transferred the case from Bihar to a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) court in Saket District Court complex in Delhi. On November 28 last year, the top court had directed the CBI to conduct the probe into allegations of physical and sexual abuse of inmates in 16 other shelter homes in Bihar which were flagged in the TISS report.
