Six persons including three girls were killed after being struck by lightning in three villages under the Badarvas police station area of the district today, police said.

Kali Bai (12), Sabri Bai (9), Sema Bai (12) and Pappu Bavla (22) were charred to death when lightning hit them at Munderi village, said inspector Rajeev Tripathi. Veer Singh (32), who was with them, sustained grievous burn injuries. He has been admitted to a hospital, the officer added.

All of them were out grazing cattle in the village jungle, Tripathi said. Shree Bai Dhakat (35) was killed when lightning struck her when grazing cattle in the fields at Atalpur village.

In a third incident, farmer Laluram Dhakat (35) was killed in Barkheda village.
