Mustard seed futures decline on subdued spot demand

Mustard seed prices fell by Rs 39 to Rs 4,092 per quintal in futures trade today after traders cut down their holdings in line with weak spot market.
Marketmen attributed the slide in mustard seed futures to ample stocks on relentless arrivals from producing belts against muted demand from oil mills.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, mustard seed for September fell by Rs 39, or 0.94 percent, to Rs 4,092 per quintal clocking an open interest of 1,06,630 lots.
Similarly, mustard for October fell by Rs 31, or 0.74 percent, to Rs 4,162 per quintal with an open interest of 29,420 lots.
