Pranab Mukherjee condoles death of BJP leader Ananth Kumar

Former President Pranab Mukherjee Tuesday called on the family of former union minister and BJP leader Ananth Kumar who passed away on November 12 at a private hospital here due to lung cancer.

Condoling the death, Mukherjee recalled his association with Kumar during his long political stint.

"The former president arrived at 8 p.m and stayed for about 15 minutes. He spoke to Kumar's wife Tejaswini Ananth Kumar and other family members were present," family sources said.

Kumar, a six-time Lok Sabha member from Bengaluru South constituency, besides serving in the Narendra Modi government had been part of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government.
