Nana Akufo-Addo extols Dombo’s contribution while unveiling SD Dombo Foundation

President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo has recently described the renowned Ghanaian politician Simon Diedong Dombo as the unsung hero of the three founders of the Danquah/Dombo/Busia political tradition, whose ideal ways of leading life should be followed by the present generation of leaders.

President Nana Akufo-Addo has described the late politician Simon Diedong Dombo as a selfless patriot who had surrendered his legitimate claim of leadership to Dr. K A Busia all in the supreme interest of the general good of the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition and for the promotion of democracy in the entire nation.

The President added that no monument could compensate the sacrifices Dombo made to ensure the sustenance of Ghana’s independence, multi-party democracy and survival of the UP political tradition, Ghana Web noted.

He, the President, inaugurated the SD Dombo Foundation for Development and Leadership Studies in Ghana’s capital city Accra on December 6. During the inauguration, he said that not many people would today make such basic sacrifice to ensure the sustenance of not only a political party but also of governments and nation, Graphic Online reported.

He also insisted saying that it was absolutely right that the new University of University of Business Integrated Development Studies in Wa be named after the great politician for his high contribution in the development of northern territories, Independence struggle and lot more.

According to the President, Dombo never compromised his principles for superior governance and democracy. He also battled against all the salacious vows by the political opponents to spoil his political ideals.
