At least twenty-three former war veterans, in Cuito district, Bié province, benefited Monday from various products, in an action of the Institute of Socio-professional Reintegration of the Ex-military (IRSEM).

The list includes seven and a half tons of fertilizers, six tons of ammonia, half a ton of various seeds, hoes, machetes, sprays, axes, and others delivered to the IRSEM program called Generating Opportunities (AGORA).

The head of the IRSEM in Bié, António Amaral, reported that the AGORA program is estimated at 4.6 million Kwanzas. During the year 2018, the institution created 96 cooperatives of peasants in the nine municipalities of the province, as well as associations for non-agricultural activities.

IRSEM controls more than 23,000 former soldiers, with 80 percent of them choosing projects related to agriculture, livestock, milling, locksmithing and carpentry.
