Man commits suicide after being fed-up with prolonged illness

Fed up with prolonged illness, a 36-year-old man Monday ended his life by jumping off an under- construction building here, police said. The incident took place at Pantnagar in Ghatkopar (East), an official said The deceased was identified as Jigar Atul Shah, he added. Shah was under depression due to some illness for which he was being treated for the last 10 years, he said, adding this may have led him to take the extreme step. This morning, Shah went to under-construction `Crystal' building near his residence and jumped off it, he said.

He was rushed to the hospital by locals but declared dead before admission, he said. An accidental death report has been registered at the Pantnagar Police Station, he added.
