The rehabilitation and modernization, of this year, of the multipurpose terminal of Luanda Port, includes the challenges and projects of Transportadora de Cargas, Operadora de Terminais e Transitario (Unicargas), announced today its chairman of the board of directors, Celso Rose.

The multipurpose terminal, capable of handling more than 244,000 tons of general cargo per year, was delivered to the carrier's management in 2005, with the purpose of improving port, maritime and logistics services, favouring the country's economic and social development.

Speaking to the press, on the sidelines of the second meeting of cadres under the motto "Expansion and diversification as pillars of the sustainability of Unicargas, Celso Rosa said that works to rehabilitate the infrastructure are a priority since this terminal provides 85 percent of the revenues generated by the company. Hence there is a need for its rehabilitation and modernization, in order to increase its operational capacity." This year we are committed to improving the multipurpose terminal that we are managing at the Port of Luanda, which is our main source of revenue," he said.

On sustainability, the manager stressed that work is still being done to improve the results and the balance of the year is positive. From January to November 2018, the company raised Kz 4.6 billion, an increase of AKz 990 million compared to the same period of 2017.

In addition to the commitment to improve infrastructure in the terminal, Unicargas is investing heavily in the training of staff. The meeting was attended by Transport Minister Ricardo Abreu, who suggested the adoption of business models to ensure the sustainability of large companies in the sector.
