Supporters of BJP MP Kirodi Lal Meena took out a protest march in Dausa district on Friday against the alleged police misbehaviour with their leader when he was on his way to meet the widows of the three CRPF personnel from Rajasthan who were killed in the 2019 Pulwama terror attack.
Police said the supporters have sat on an indefinite dharna in front of the district collectorate demanding an apology from Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shanti Kumar Dhariwal for using the word ''terrorist'' for Meena.
The supporters started the march from PG College to Collectorate at 11 am and raised slogans against the state government and police. The youths were holding placards and raising anti-government slogans, police said.
Police Assistant Sub-Inspector Hari Singh said after the Aakrosh rally, 10-12 supporters of the BJP MP started an indefinite strike in front of the Dausa district collectorate gate.
He said they demanded that Dhariwal apologise for the statement made against the MP in the assembly.
On Monday, Dhariwal used the word ''terrorist'' for Meena, a Rajya Sabha MP.
Meena was admitted to a Jaipur hospital due to injury sustained during the alleged misbehaviour by police officials when he was going to Chomu to meet one of the Pulwama widows. He later voluntarily went to Delhi for better treatment.
Meena was supporting three war widows who were demanding a change in rules so that their relatives and not just children can get government jobs on compassionate grounds. Their other demands included construction of roads and installation of statues of the martyrs in their villages.
