The Kerala Assembly Tuesday paid rich tributes to MLA P B Abdul Razak who passed away recently.

Sixty-three-year-old Razak, who represented Manjeshwaram constituency in the House, died of a heart attack at a private hospital in Kasaragod on October 20.

The members of the ruling CPI(M)-led LDF and opposition Congress-headed UDF paid homage to the Indian Union Muslim League legislator and recalled his contributions.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that Razak was a leader approachable to any ordinary citizen any time. Opposition leader in the assembly Ramesh Chennithala, minister Kadakampally Surendran and MLAs O Rajagopal, Anoop Jacob, K B Ganesh Kumar and P C George were among those who shared memories of the IUML legislator.

The House was adjourned for the day after it observed silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul. The business session, scheduled till December 13, will begin Wednesday.
