The judge in the New York civil fraud case against former U.S. President Donald Trump issued a limited gag order in the case barring all lawyers from making public statements about any confidential judge-staff communications, a court filing on Friday showed.

Judge Arthur Engoron imposed the order saying it was meant to protect the safety of the court's staff and keep the trial orderly, according to the filing. A failure to abide by his order will result in serious sanctions, he added. The order comes after Trump's sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump
