British finance minister heartened by real wage rises

British finance minister Jeremy Hunt said he was heartened to see real wages growing, after official quarterly data on Tuesday showed they rose 1.4% when adjusted for the Office for National Statistics' preferred CPIH inflation measure.

"The Autumn Statement will set out my plans to get people back into work and deliver growth for the UK," he said in a statement.
