Taiwan's main opposition party says won't give up on talks for joint presidential ticket

Taiwan's main opposition party the Kuomintang said on Thursday it would not give up on talks for a joint presidential ticket with the smaller Taiwan People's Party until the last moment, after discussions appeared to break down in acrimony.

Friday afternoon is the deadline for presidential candidates to register with Taiwan's election commission ahead of the Jan. 13 polls.
