McConnell continues to support Senate border security effort as House Republicans distance themselves

U.S. Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell on Wednesday again called for the Senate to move a package including aid for Ukraine and Israel as well as border security provisions, saying the package under negotiation would improve current law.

House Republican leaders and former President Donald Trump have called for lawmakers to reject the package.
