Two presidential aspirants, Ghana’s former President Dramani Mahama and Joshua Alabi (first Vice-Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra) have announced that they will be filing their nominations to contest the flagbearership of the party on Monday, December 17, 2018.

Last Wednesday, December 12, the 60-year old Dramani Mahama came across with ex appointees of his government in Ghana’s capital city, Accra. There he gave an indication that he would present his nomination forms on December 17.

The former President also discussed on a wide range of topical issues including the under-performing governance and deception by the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He also emphasised the recent endeavor of government of Ghana to introduce drone technology in the health delivery system. He also expressed his gratitude for the donations and support, which his campaign had got from common people.

As far as Joshua Alabi’s filling of nomination is concerned, his spokesperson Richard Quashigah said that he (Alabi) would personally file his nomination at around 11 am on December 17. According to Quashigah, Alabi is very grateful to all those NDC members, supporters and sympathisers who have given all the efforts for him. He also said that he would emerge victorious when the party goes to the polls.

“I am determined to build a just society that offers the opportunity to every Ghanaian, irrespective of where you were born, how you were born, who you were born to and the circumstances of your upbringing,” Alabi wrote on social media.
