An audio went viral on social media platforms in which Sub-Divisional Magistrate Prasoon Kashyap was being threatened by the two people who mentioned their anger against former taking action on the illegal mining mafia in the Kishni area of Mainpuri. According to the audio, two persons said that if SDM happens to be around in their area of operations then they won't let the official go back and will crush his car with a JCB.

In this regard, SDM Prasoon Kashyap said that identification of those involved in the audio has not been done yet and soon a case will be registered after the process is over. "I was not aware of the audio. I listened to it and some derogatory remarks have been made against me. Have sent details to Kishni police station. Once identification of these persons is done then a case will be registered," an official told ANI.

He further said that rampant action is being taken in the area against the illegal mining. "We used to receive complaints that illegal mining is going on in some places. We were earlier busy with election duty, after that we were aggresively going against illegal mining. We nabbed many of them who were involved illegal mining. Two dumper one tractor were seized in that. Again action was taken in the area and DM and SP were also taken in the loop," he said.

Earlier, two people allegedly involved in the illegal sand mining industry were arrested after ramming their vehicle into a police officer in the Naudhiya area of Shahdol district on May 5. (ANI)
