Krishna Kumari Rai Clinches Victory in Sikkim Assembly Election

Krishna Kumari Rai, wife of Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, won from the Namchi-Singhithang assembly constituency, defeating SDF's Bimal Rai by 5,302 votes. Rai, the SKM candidate, secured 7,605 votes, leading the SKM to a majority in the 32-member assembly for the second consecutive term.

In a significant political victory, Krishna Kumari Rai, the spouse of Sikkim’s CM Prem Singh Tamang, triumphed in the Namchi-Singhithang assembly constituency. Rai, representing the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM), secured a commanding win over SDF's Bimal Rai with 7,605 votes to her rival's 2,605 votes.

The SKM celebrated another milestone as it clinched a majority in the 32-member Sikkim assembly, marking its second consecutive term in power.

Other candidates including Mahesh Rai (CAP-S) and Aruna Manger (BJP) lagged far behind, obtaining 136 and 233 votes respectively. This victory underscores the robust political presence of SKM in the Himalayan state.
